OEM Participants Announced For NASTF General Meeting Feature Session At AAPEX

A panel of original equipment manufacturer (OEM) experts will participate in the National Automotive Service Task Force (NASTF) Fall 2016 General Meeting feature session, "Take the Box Outta the Box," during AAPEX on Wednesday, Nov. 2 in Las Vegas. The session is designed for advanced service technicians who have already purchased an SAE J2534 vehicle interface device, but have yet to use it in the profitable business of module programming.

nastf89A panel of original equipment manufacturer (OEM) experts will participate in the National Automotive Service Task Force (NASTF) Fall 2016 General Meeting feature session, “Take the Box Outta the Box,” during AAPEX on Wednesday, Nov. 2 in Las Vegas. The session is designed for advanced service technicians who have already purchased an SAE J2534 vehicle interface device, but have yet to use it in the profitable business of module programming.

Representatives of the OEMs will discuss the use and limitations of the SAE J2534 tool. OEM participants will include: Kurt Immekus, service publications regulatory specialist, Volkswagen Group America (moderator and panelist); Bob Stewart, manager Aftermarket Service Support, General Motors; and representatives from Toyota Motor Sales USA and American Honda.

As part of the session, Donny Seyfer, co-owner of Seyfer Automotive in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, will introduce the topic, while Brian Herron, vice president, Drew Technologies, will discuss how to install the J2534 device.

The 90-minute session will be held at 1:15 p.m. (PST) in Casanova Room 504 of the Sands Expo/Venetian Hotel.

The NASTF Fall 2016 General Meeting will take place from 1-4:30 p.m. (PST), and is a featured event in the AAPEX Service Professionals Program. The full agenda for the NASTF Fall 2016 General Meeting is posted at nastf.org/GeneralMeetings.

Registration is not required for the NASTF event and seating is limited. Registration, however, is required for AAPEX.
