Auto-Care-Association-LogoThe Auto Care Association has released the first in a series of animated Technology Minute online videos about the association’s technology standards and best practices. The videos are aimed at fostering awareness and understanding of the standards by presenting individual 60-second videos in simple, approachable terms that are appropriate for multiple audiences, the association says.

Each video covers one component of the association’s technology standards, providing a brief introduction, a summary of what the component does and explaining how it works with the other standards in the technology suite. The association says the videos are particularly useful for current users of the standards, both to teach them how they can best utilize the standards for their business and to help them articulate the role of their standards in their everyday work.

“The goal of these videos is to tell the story of our standards, and how all the elements work together to improve companies’ bottom lines,” said Taylor Mitchell, senior director, technology standards, Auto Care Association. “We want to make it easier for the people who use them to get the most out of the standards, and help them explain to their bosses and colleagues how the standards are helping them improve supply chain efficiencies every day.”

The first Technology Minute video, available here, is about the Product Information Exchange Standard (PIES), the best practice for the management and exchange of product information data in the auto care industry. Other upcoming videos to be released will cover the Aftermarket Catalog Exchange Standard (ACES), the Product Attribute database (PAdb) and the Aftermarket Brand Table.

The videos will be released in Auto CarE-news and on the association’s social media channels, and will be hosted on the association’s YouTube channel and at autocare.org/tech-videos.
