The Auto Care Woman of the Year award is bestowed annually to honor a remarkable individual in recognition of her significant leadership and contributions to the auto care community throughout her career. These contributions may be cultural, educational, social, economic, political, business or any other areas that impact the lives of people in the industry and community.

“Tammy truly embodies the spirit of the Woman of the Year award,” said Amy Mattinat, president, Car Care Council Women’s Board. “Tammy pitched the idea of starting a mentor program and volunteered to take it on, over and above her professional responsibilities. Her committee and the executive board have supported her in creating a fabulous program, one that has quickly become one of the highly valued benefits of being a Women’s Board associate. This award is truly a well-deserved tribute to her dedication to the Women’s Board and the advancement of women within the auto care industry.”

“The Auto Care Association congratulates Tammy for the well-earned recognition from the Women’s Board,” said Kathleen Schmatz, president and CEO, Auto Care Association. “This award echoes her many contributions and dedication, recognizes her skills and indicates continued excellence in standards from professionals in auto care and the importance of sharing knowledge with the younger generations. We are pleased that the WB has seen fit to give this award to Tammy, and we look forward to further contributions.”

“I have worked with Tammy for 20 years and she is one of those rare people who you feel truly lucky to have in your life, not just your business,” said Guy Andrysick, senior vice president and general manager, Spectrum Brands – Global Auto Care. “I cannot begin to try to list the numerous, impressive accomplishments that she has made to Prestone Products/Honeywell, Armored AutoGroup and now Spectrum Brands. She accomplishes ridiculous goals under unrealistic time frames by creating inclusive environments that allow people to win together. She does all of this consistently and repeatedly, making it appear normal and effortless.”

(Chaffee) Tecklenburg has been active in the industry for 20 years and has held numerous leadership positions with increasing responsibility with companies Prestone Products/Honeywell and Armored AutoGroup, recently acquired by Spectrum Brands Holdings, leading teams across finance, sales and marketing for the brands Prestone, Fram, Autolite, Bendix, Holt Lloyd, Armor All, STP, Tuff Stuff and A/C Pro. Most recently, she was an integral part of the team who built Armored AutoGroup and after the sale to Spectrum Brands last May, is playing a lead role in the integration and development of Spectrum Brands’ Global Auto Care division.

(Chaffee) Tecklenburg has been involved with the Car Care Council’s Women’s Board for seven years. Since 2014, she has sat on the executive board and is the committee chair for Career and Leadership Development. In 2014, she led the Women’s Board in launching the industry’s first female mentor program. In a brief period of time, this program has influenced many women, resulted in promotions and is filling the void of traditional development programs within the auto care industry.
