The Automotive Service Association, with the support of ASA Pennsylvania, has put together a robust training program, taking place in Philadelphia at the DoubleTree Airport Hotel April 8 – 9. The event will take place on Friday and Saturday, bringing a full day management session dedicated to shop owners and managers on Friday and service repair training to the technicians and service advisors on Saturday.

As today’s vehicles have become more technologically advanced, educating your customers thoroughly about auto care will help them better understand all the data that is now available on their dashboard. Seeing the term “oil life” displayed on an in-car screen may mean different things to different people. Helping your customers clearly understand will go a long way to helping them be more proactive when it comes to vehicle maintenance.

The Equipment and Tool Institute’s ToolTech conference is an opportunity for industry professionals to network and meet with OEMs, tool and equipment companies, national chain stores, large suppliers, dealer groups, distributors, manufacturer reps, and many other industry leaders. ToolTech focuses solely on automotive-related tool and equipment companies and the individuals at the forefront of the industry and technological advances.

The guide is divided by audience segment, including millennials, recent graduates, career and technical education students, and military veterans. Each section includes recommendations for engaging that particular audience with information on what they may be looking for in their career, along with relevant data and successful case studies.

All ASA members are invited to attend an open board meeting on Tuesday, April 26. The meeting will be followed by a recognition luncheon and the swearing-in of the 2016-’17 board of directors. Dan Risley, ASA president and executive director, will deliver a state-of-the-association address. ASA members also are invited to participate in Lobby Day on Capitol Hill on Wednesday, April 27.

The Equipment & Tool Institute’s (ETI) ToolTech event focuses on automotive-related tool and equipment companies and the individuals at the forefront of the industry and technological advances. Attendees come to ToolTech to network with industry insiders, peers, OEM personnel and meet with key companies in the marketplace.

The Car Care Council Women’s Board (WB) will award a record amount of $50,000 in scholarships to deserving female students studying to enter the auto care industry in 2016. The WB raised more than $15,000 in its first-ever 5k/Fun Run fundraiser, Scholarship Strides, with all proceeds contributing to its annual scholarship program, during the recent 2016 Women’s Board Winter Leadership Conference in Orlando, Fla.
