The Auto Care Woman of the Year award is bestowed annually to honor a remarkable individual in recognition of her significant leadership and contributions to the auto care community throughout her career. These contributions may be cultural, educational, social, economic, political, business or any other areas that impact the lives of people in the industry and community.

A new study from The Boston Consulting Group shows that advanced driver assistance systems could avert almost 30 percent of crashes, but stakeholders must take action to spur increased advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) adoption. If widely adopted, ADAS could generate tremendous benefits to society, sharply reducing the number, cost and severity of automotive accidents, says a new study from The Boston Consulting Group (BCG).

AAPEX will introduce ExpressEdu at this year’s event to give attendees a close up look at how new technology is currently being used in the automotive aftermarket industry and what to expect in the future. The six, free ExpressEdu sessions also will feature a Q&A after each presentation, giving attendees the opportunity to get additional in-depth information from session speakers.

The 2015 AAPEXedu will take a close up look at the emerging role of telematics as a revenue generator for independent auto repair shops, the challenges the aftermarket faces with “direct to vehicle owner” OE communications, and many additional issues related to autonomous vehicles and connected cars.

As automakers work diligently to design hacker-proof technologies into new vehicles, independent service technicians may worry they could lose system-access gains they have made in the past decade. These challenges and concerns of vehicle cybersecurity will take center stage during a panel discussion on Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 1:15 p.m., as part of the NASTF Fall 2015 General Meeting at AAPEX in Las Vegas.

The awards recognize manufacturers and marketers for excellence in products, including tools and functional fluids, packaging, websites, catalogs and marketing/advertising programs for import cars and trucks and new for 2015 social media campaign for import cars or trucks product and/or brand marketing.

Reader’s Digest has announced the results of the Reader’s Digest Trusted Brand Survey, which makes its debut in the United States in the October issue, on newsstands Sept. 15. More than 4,500 Americans across the nation took part in the online survey, which awarded the “Reader’s Digest Most Trusted Brand” title to winners in 40 product categories.
