The Auto Care Association has announced the recipients of its 2015-’16 Head of the Class Award, honoring three auto care industry companies that continually invest in employee education and training. The award is administered by the Auto Care Association Education Committee on behalf of the association, and promotes the value and benefit that investment in education and training provides to employees and their companies, as well as the entire auto care industry.

The GAAS Scholarship Fund is now “open for business,” taking applications for 2016 scholarships on line at automotivescholarships.com. GAAS, the University of the Aftermarket Foundation (UAF) and more than 30 donors and participating organizations collaborate to give scholarship awards to applicants who apply at this site.

Automakers are investing billions of dollars to put technologies in their cars and light trucks that are not being used by many of the owners of those vehicles, according to the J.D. Power 2015 Driver Interactive Vehicle Experience (DrIVE) Report. The 2015 DrIVE Report measures driver experiences with in-vehicle technology features during the first 90 days of ownership.

A panel of experts will discuss the challenges facing OEMs in preventing vehicle hacking while preserving productivity and convenience in auto repair. Nominees are now being accepted for the Car Care Council Women’s Board Women of the Year Awards, which annually honor three women leaders who have made significant contributions to the auto care community. The three award recipients will be recognized at the Women’s Board press conference and reception on Tuesday Nov. 3, during AAPEX in Las Vegas.
