AAPEX will host the National Automotive Service Task Force (NASTF) Fall 2015 General Meeting, featuring a session on “SAE J2534-1 v5.00: The Benefits for OEMs, Technicians and Tool Makers.” The NASTF meeting will take place from 1-4:30 p.m. PST on Wednesday, Nov. 4, in Casanova Room 504 at the Venetian, with the J2534 session starting at 2:15 p.m.

A new, one-of-its kind study from the University of Iowa found that a majority of drivers expressed uncertainty about how many potentially life-saving vehicle safety technologies work. The survey also showed that 40 percent of drivers report that their vehicles have acted or behaved in unexpected ways.

Robert Bosch LLC has announced the addition of 31 new SKUs to several of its product lines in August. New SKUs have been added to Bosch Blue Disc brake pads, ignition coils, throttle bodies, premium oil filters, rotating machines, OE fine wire spark plugs, Aerotwin wiper blades and high-pressure, gasoline direct injection (GDI) fuel pumps.

The Automotive Service Association (ASA) hosted the first Service Repair Leadership Forum (SRLF) during NACE | CARS in July. The program included a segment on periodic motor vehicle inspections. Panelists addressed the challenges facing safety inspection programs across the United States, in addition to the benefits of strong programs in states such as Pennsylvania and Missouri.
