ACDelco has reported that new agreements with distributors will help make it easier for distributors to stock ACDelco parts and satisfy intense demand from independent service centers for greater and more timely parts availability. This is part of a number of changes ACDelco has planned that are intended to spur growth.

Robert Bosch LLC has added 12 new SKUs to its product portfolio in May. The additions include Bosch QuietCast and Blue brake pads, spark plugs, rotating machines and Aerotwin and Twin wiper blades. Coverage has been expanded for Bosch QuietCast and Blue Brake Pads for late-model Asian vehicles with two new brake pad set SKUs.

Organizers of the CARS and NACE events have announced the return of the Technology & Telematics Forum (TTF). In its second year, the forum will provide a deep-dive into the future of shops and an overview of emerging technology for the industry. The 2015 SEMA Show will include a new expansion area to accommodate additional exhibitors during the SEMA Show, which takes place Nov. 3-6 in Las Vegas. Located in the outside area south of the Las Vegas Convention Center (adjacent to the Renaissance Hotel), this new First-Time and Featured Exhibitors area also will include a transportation hub and serve as a primary thoroughfare into the SEMA Show.

Of the more than 840,000 automotive technicians working in the United States, 17 outstanding individuals have qualified for the prestigious 2015 World Class Technician Award. The Auto Care Association and National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) work together to recognize these professional technicians who have tested and obtained ASE certification in 22 specialty areas during the 2014 test administrated by ASE.

The Automotive Management Institute (AMI) is accepting applications for the $1,000 Arrowhead Automotive Aftermarket’s “High Octane” Scholarship. AMI’s resource development effort, EXCEL, in conjunction with Arrowhead Automotive Aftermarket, established the scholarship, which is awarded to an Automotive Service Association (ASA) Mechanical Division member who strives to be, or is presently working in a management capacity.

CARS, the premier event for automotive service professionals, has announced the involvement of Maylan Newton, CEO and senior director of ESi, and Bob Greenwood, president/CEO of Automotive Aftermarket E-Learning Center Ltd., in the inaugural Service Repair Leadership Forum (SRLF). Newton and Greenwood will moderate and deliver training at the forum on July 24 during the NACE | CARS 2015 conference and exposition, taking place on July 21-25 at the COBO Center in Detroit.
