The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) has changed its testing schedule to allow year-round access for automotive professionals. ASE testing is now available 12 months out of the year. Whether a candidate registers on the first day of a registration window or the last, they will always have 90 days to schedule an appointment and take a certification test at any of the 450+ Prometric test centers across the country.

Carfax: 46 Million Cars Have An Unfixed Recall

New research from Carfax suggests that millions of people may be driving, buying or selling potentially dangerous cars due to an unfixed recall. The company’s annual research on the issue shows more than 46 million cars nationwide have at least one safety recall that’s never been fixed. In fact, 5 million of them were bought and sold by potentially unsuspecting consumers in 2014.

Millennials Aren’t Driving Less

Three in four young people would rather give up social media for a day than their car and 72% agree they would rather give up texting for a week than their car, according to a research study from MTV, a division of Viacom. Findings from the study, “Millennials Have Drive,” were discussed at the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) Convention and Expo 2015.

New Study On Clean Diesel Technology Affirms Near-Zero Emissions, No Significant Health Impact

Health Effects Institute (HEI) conducted an independent study of new technology diesel engines to determine whether the engines achieved the expected emissions reductions, thereby improving air quality for public health, as well as whether the new technologies resulted in any unintended increases in emission components. The study concluded that exposure to new technology diesel exhaust does not cause any increase in the risk of lung cancer or other significant adverse health effects in study animals.
