Roche was awarded the title based on his entry in the MAHLE Aftermarket Champion Technician contest, established to spotlight talented and forward-thinking engine technicians and specialists nationwide.
NACAT Education Foundation has announced the official launch of an “Hour of Automotive Technology,” a program devoted to helping K-12 students become exposed to career and technical education subject matter related to automotive technology. “Hour of Automotive Technology” allows teachers to access peer-reviewed, grade appropriate, one-hour science- and technology-based lessons that have been submitted by classroom educators or corporate trainers.
The annual Federated-KOI Auto Parts Cavalcade of Customs and Training Expo, held Jan. 9-11 in Cincinnati, saw an increase in attendance of over 19 percent from last year’s record crowd. As part of the vendor trade show, KOI Auto Parts offered 32 types of training workshops for a total of 81 sessions held during the weekend. A record-setting 754 service technicians, shop owners and shop managers attended multiple training classes taught by qualified instructors from Federated/KOI vendor partners.

Representatives of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Environmental Council of the States (ECOS) and motor vehicle industry associations have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the agency and the motor vehicle industry for the reduction of copper in brake pads. The MOU calls for the reduction of the use of copper in brake pads beginning in 2021 to levels less than 5 percent by weight and further reductions to 0.5 percent by the year 2025.

Expected to account for more than 20% of the world’s population, these digitally savvy, socially conscious consumers, most of whom are still teenagers, are working to help define the trends of both today and tomorrow.”
