Several Federated members have already begun collecting toys and donations, as well as holding special events, on behalf of the 2013 U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots campaign.
Federal-Mogul’s Wagner Brake brand is reaching out to automotive parts distributors and service providers to increase awareness of the new packaging “LeafMark” designation covering “low copper” compliant brake pads. Recent legislation in California and Washington has mandated the dramatic reduction of copper and other potentially hazardous substances in original equipment and replacement brake pads and shoes.

Training online and on-demand is now available for automotive technicians through the website of the Mobile Air Conditioning Society (MACS) Worldwide. MACS, working with Automotive Video (AVI), can now provide automotive technicians with a variety of relevant training courses that can be viewed online or purchased on DVD.

AAPEX will debut a new video project, the Aftermarket Story, at this year’s event to give attendees the opportunity to celebrate, reminisce and reconnect with the history and products of the aftermarket, as well as AAPEX itself. AAPEX is set for Tuesday, Nov. 5 through Thursday, Nov. 7 at the Sands Expo Center, Las Vegas.

The new “SmartChoice Mobile” app enables shop owners, service writers and professional technicians to use their iPhone or Android devices to instantly access the latest parts information for virtually any passenger car or light truck and communicate detailed inspection findings – including photos of worn or broken parts and a repair estimate – directly to the vehicle owner.
October is Fall Car Care Month and the Car Care Council urges shops, stores and other industry organizations planning community car care events to register their events. Events registered on the Car Care Council’s website will be promoted by the council through its various social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.
More than 2,000 Federated members and customers enjoyed a great day of hospitality and action-packed racing at the annual Federated Auto Parts 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Richmond International Raceway (RIR). Along with the near-capacity crowd at RIR, More than five million viewers watched on ABC as Carl Edwards took the checkered flag to win this year’s Federated 400.
