Hire Heroes USA, Advance Foundation Support Women Veterans

Through the generosity of its supplier partners, the Advance Auto Parts Foundation donated $500,000 to the program.

Hire Heroes USA and the Advance Auto Parts Foundation announced the upcoming launch of the Women Veterans Program, a new program specifically dedicated to female veterans.

Through the generosity of its supplier partners, the Advance Auto Parts Foundation donated $500,000 to fund the first year of the program.

Hire Heroes USA’s Women Veterans Program is a national nonprofit that helps service members, veterans and military spouses find gainful employment in the civilian sector. The program will help female veterans navigate the job-search process and connect them with job opportunities that match their unique skills and experiences. Services of the program include career coaching, resume review, interview preparation, networking opportunities and access to job postings.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, women veterans face significantly higher unemployment rates compared to their male counterparts. Women veterans often face unique challenges navigating the transition from military to civilian life including accessing healthcare and support services tailored to their needs and addressing issues such as gender-based discrimination and military trauma.

“Women veterans embody an extraordinary array of strengths that elevate the workforce, demonstrating leadership abilities and a persistent dedication to achieving their goals,” said Andrew Sandoe, CEO at Hire Heroes USA. “As we partner with the Advance Auto Parts Foundation, we are excited about the opportunity to empower more women veterans in their journey toward meaningful and fulfilling careers. Together, we will work toward success by recognizing and meeting the unique needs and incredible potential of women veterans.”

The Advance Auto Parts Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Advance Auto Parts.

“The Advance Auto Parts Foundation firmly believes in the power of giving back to the communities that have supported us,” said Elisabeth Eisleben, president, Advance Auto Parts Foundation and senior vice president, investor relations, communications and community affairs, Advance Auto Parts. “Sponsorship of the Women Veterans Program is a true honor for us and for our many generous supplier partners who helped to make this gift possible. We are committed to empowering these incredible women and to being a catalyst for their success.”

On an annual basis through the new Women Veterans Program, Hire Heroes USA plans to serve at least 700 women service members/veterans and confirm at least 400 hires.
