Federal-Mogul is reporting that its MOOG steering and suspension team has introduced the aftermarket’s first replacement rear inner compensator link/tie rod end for more than 1.3 million North American vehicles.

According to Federal-Mogul, the innovative MOOG Problem Solver design (No. ES800560), now available for 2002-2005 Ford Explorer and 2003-2005 Lincoln Aviator models, was developed in response to technician requests for a more durable component that eliminates the need to replace the entire rear link assembly on these applications.
“Until now, technicians have had to replace the entire assembly with parts featuring the original design. The new MOOG Problem Solver part now allows the installer to replace only the failed component and offers a significantly more robust and longer lasting solution that can help prevent comebacks and costly repairs,” said Mark Boyle, director, steering and suspension products, Federal-Mogul.
The MOOG ES800560 rear inner compensator link/tie rod end includes the brand’s all-metal “gusher” bearing design for exceptional strength and longer life. The MOOG part also features a grease fitting to allow for periodic servicing and is far more resistant to socket pull-out than the original part, the company says.
According to Federal-Mogul, the MOOG brand offers the aftermarket’s most comprehensive coverage of the North American vehicle population and includes hundreds of exclusive Problem Solver parts that are easier to install and provide superior performance and durability. And, MOOG components are the No. 1 choice of automotive service professionals and NASCAR crew chiefs, the company says.
