ACDelco has added five new water pump part numbers to its Professional lineup, representing more than 200 additional non-GM vehicle makes and models. With more than 700 total part numbers, ACDelco now covers 94 percent of both GM and non-GM water pump applications dating back to 1986.
During a National Day of Service during the week of May 11, ACDelco’s independent Professional Service Center program participants partnered with the GM Foundation, Safe Kids Worldwide and local charities to help families in need to repair their vehicles in 17 cities.
ACDelco is celebrating its 100th birthday not only by reflecting on its deep heritage, but planning its future as the automotive industry continues to evolve.
ACDelco is teaming up with Pandora to create what it says will be “the ultimate car care soundtrack.” Launched recently, ACDelco Tech Tunes Radio combines a customized playlist, including car care trivia questions, specially designed for automotive service professionals and enthusiasts.
The contest challenged GM ASEP students across the U.S. to produce creative social media content to inspire other students to consider careers as automotive technicians. The winning school receives prizes, including ACDelco gear and automotive tools.
ACDelco recognized 19 of its top distributors during its 2016 National Meeting. Tonsa Automotive, of Port Washington, New York, won the 2016 Distributor of the Year award, and the Parts House, of Jacksonville, Florida, and Rowerdink Automotive, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, were honored for outstanding growth in key sales categories.
Robert Sanford is responsible for ACDelco’s business strategies and overall performance. He joined GM in 1982 and has served in a variety of service, sales, aftersales and management roles with the company.
ACDelco is simplifying the name of its Professional brake line, a move aimed at showcasing the depth and breadth of the line’s all makes/all models offerings and helping installers and consumers better understand the choices within ACDelco’s good, better and best tiers.
ACDelco has added three free online Techline Information System (TIS2Web) training courses to ACDelco TechConnect to support service professionals and independent shops that provide diagnostics and repair for General Motors (GM) vehicles.
ACDelco is rewarding technicians and aftermarket service centers for making the commitment to enhance their skills through ACDelco training. The ACDelco Technician Training Recognition Program awards technicians with a special medallion for each core ASE training path he or she completes.
ACDelco has reported that new agreements with distributors will help make it easier for distributors to stock ACDelco parts and satisfy intense demand from independent service centers for greater and more timely parts availability. This is part of a number of changes ACDelco has planned that are intended to spur growth.
ACDelco is encouraging technicians to expand their skills with its newest program – the ACDelco Technician Training Excellence Recognition Program. The program launches this summer and will recognize technicians who complete additional training.
