“Many car owners delay spark plug repair on their vehicles, even after they have failed. This is a mistake since fouled, damaged or worn out spark plugs can lead to engine damage, reduced fuel efficiency and poor performance like misfiring, hard starting and sluggish acceleration,” said Rich White, executive director, Car Care Council.
The Car Care Council recommends that tire pressure be checked at least once a month and more often during cold weather months.
The Car Care Council has announced an agreement with the Automotive Industries Association of Canada (AIA Canada) and the Asociación Nacional de Representantes, Importadores y Distribuidores de Refacciones y Accesorios para Automóviles, A.C. (ARIDRA) to create Car Care Council North America, which will direct the “Be Car Care Aware” consumer education campaign in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The Cinderella Era is described as being the time period after your car loan is paid off and your vehicle is still in good condition, only needing modest services and repairs.
“The Car Care Council appreciates CAWA working with the California DMV to provide us with an opportunity to reach thousands of motorists with the important, and often misunderstood, message about the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act,” said Rich White, executive director, Car Care Council.
Changing the oil and oil filter, replacing wiper blades and air filters and scheduled maintenance top the list of the 10 most common vehicle repairs of 2017, according to IMR research.
“Thousands of vehicle owners and drivers will now be able to learn more about the benefits of regular vehicle maintenance and care promoted by the Car Care Council as they watch television while waiting for their vehicles to be serviced or repaired,” said Rich White, executive director, Car Care Council.

The new website, womeninautocare.org, features full events coverage, a robust member roster, a comprehensive news section and a variety of other features and resources for women in the auto care industry.
Family Service Day’s flagship initiative, called “Keeping Cars Kickin’,” is a program through which repair shop owners and employees across the country provide necessary preventative maintenance and car-care education at no charge to local families who need help caring for their vehicles.
