The Car Care Council Women’s Board (WB) will award a record amount of $50,000 in scholarships to deserving female students studying to enter the auto care industry in 2016. The WB raised more than $15,000 in its first-ever 5k/Fun Run fundraiser, Scholarship Strides, with all proceeds contributing to its annual scholarship program, during the recent 2016 Women’s Board Winter Leadership Conference in Orlando, Fla.

The Car Care Council Women’s Board (WB) recently announced that Vonda Lee, director of retail and special markets, Beck/Arnley, is the 2015 recipient of the Auto Care Woman of Excellence award. Lee will be presented with the award at the WB press conference and reception at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3 at the Sands Expo, room No. 310 during AAPEX in Las Vegas.

The Auto Care Woman of the Year award is bestowed annually to honor a remarkable individual in recognition of her significant leadership and contributions to the auto care community throughout her career. These contributions may be cultural, educational, social, economic, political, business or any other areas that impact the lives of people in the industry and community.

Nominees are now being accepted for the Car Care Council Women’s Board Women of the Year Awards, which annually honor three women leaders who have made significant contributions to the auto care community. The three award recipients will be recognized at the Women’s Board press conference and reception on Tuesday Nov. 3, during AAPEX in Las Vegas.

Bogi Lateiner, owner, 180 Degrees Automotive Inc., has been named the Female Shop Owner of the Year. Lateiner has grown her business from a one-person operation to a mostly female-staffed million-dollar company without any advertising. Her shop is known for its unique design with a coffee-shop inspired waiting room, and is well-respected by her employees and customers.
