As automakers work diligently to design hacker-proof technologies into new vehicles, independent service technicians may worry they could lose system-access gains they have made in the past decade. These challenges and concerns of vehicle cybersecurity will take center stage during a panel discussion on Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 1:15 p.m., as part of the NASTF Fall 2015 General Meeting at AAPEX in Las Vegas.

AAPEX will host the National Automotive Service Task Force (NASTF) Fall 2015 General Meeting, featuring a session on “SAE J2534-1 v5.00: The Benefits for OEMs, Technicians and Tool Makers.” The NASTF meeting will take place from 1-4:30 p.m. PST on Wednesday, Nov. 4, in Casanova Room 504 at the Venetian, with the J2534 session starting at 2:15 p.m.

The all-new Service Professionals Program at the Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX) will feature customized education sessions, facilitated roundtable discussions, in-booth technical demonstrations and networking events to address what’s keeping shop owners and repair professionals awake at night. AAPEX is slated for Tuesday, Nov. 4 through Thursday, Nov. 6, at the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas, Nev., with AAPEXedu sessions starting on Monday, Nov. 3.
