Scholarships, totaling $130,000, have been awarded to students working either to become a mechanical, collision or heavy-duty repair professional or who are pursuing a business or engineering degree that will lead to a career in the automotive aftermarket.
In 2018, the foundation received 635 complete scholarship applications and awarded 302 scholarships for a total of $450,100. Fourteen of those scholarships were awarded to veterans.
The program is specifically designed to help employees better understand how the industry is structured and operates.
Classes are offered Aug. 27 through Oct. 21, and Oct. 22 through Dec 16. Registration for all classes ends Aug 13.
